Samantha Gooden is the current Director of Brand and Advertising with LIME, Cable and Wireless Communications Company, Barbados, having assumed the post in March 2014. Ms. Gooden is a communications and brand specialist with 13 years in the industry. She began her communications career in media, and went on to work with OGM Integrated Ltd. as Senior Copywriter and Producer, where she wrote and produced campaigns for major brands like Digicel, Jamaica Broilers and KFC. Thereafter, Ms. Gooden represented OGM in its regional expansion as Creative Director and General Manager in Trinidad and St. Lucia respectively, concluding her employment with the company as Client Service Director in Trinidad. Ms. Gooden later joined LIME Communications as Regional Head of Brand Management and Marketing in Barbados before assuming her current role. In addition to her present position at LIME, she consults as Director with Scotch Bonnet Ltd. focusing on brand development and brand strategy.

Samantha is a qualified Medical Technologist and worked briefly in the field. She has also lectured part-time. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology from the Northern Caribbean University, Jamaica and an EMBA in Marketing/Strategy from the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business.

Ms. Gooden has special interests in economic empowerment, human rights, and science and technology among others.

Angus Young - CEOAngus P. Young joined the NCB Financial Group (‘NCBFG’) in 2014 as Chief Executive Officer of NCB Merchant Bank (Trinidad and Tobago) Ltd. In 2018, Angus was also appointed Regional Head of Investment Banking at NCB Capital Markets Ltd and maintained dual roles until his appointment as Executive Vice President – Regional Investment Banking & New Markets at NCB Capital Markets Ltd. on July 1, 2022.

Angus is a Director of NCB Merchant Bank (Trinidad and Tobago) Ltd., NCB Capital Markets (Barbados) Ltd. and NCB Capital Markets (Guyana) Inc. Prior to joining the NCBFG, Angus served as the Managing Director of BDO Financial Advisory Services Ltd., which represented BDO’s corporate finance and transaction advisory interest in Trinidad & Tobago.

Before joining BDO, Angus was Vice President of Business Development at First Global (Trinidad & Tobago) Ltd. where he was charged with the responsibility of Corporate Finance & Capital Market origination in T&T and Jamaica. Prior to FGTT, Angus spent four years at RBTT Merchant Bank Ltd. in leadership roles including Assistant Vice President and Regional Manager of Capital Market Origination where he covered the OECS territories and Guyana. Angus is a Director of the Securities Dealers Association of Trinidad & Tobago.

Angus holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Administrative & Commercial Studies (Financial & Economic Studies) from the University of Western Ontario and a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting from Wilfrid Laurier University, School of Business and Economics, Ontario.

Ms. Lee Loy is the Chairman of Aegis Business Solutions Limited, outsourcing and advisory services, Partner of Aegis & Co., external audit company and Chairman of recruitment agencies, Eve Anderson Recruitment Limited and Caribbean Resourcing Solutions Limited. She is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad & Tobago. She was a former partner responsible for the provision of Assurance and Business Advisory Services with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Ms. Lee Loy is a non-executive director and Chairman/member of the audit committee for a number of public and private companies. She is the immediate Past President of Trinidad and Tobago Coalition of Services Industries (TTCSI) and within the NGO sector; she is the Chairman of Social Justice Foundation and Music Literacy Trust and a Director of Global Business Leadership Forum Limited and The Mercy Foundation, a division of Living Waters.

She was the first female President of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad & Tobago (ICATT) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Caribbean (ICAC) and the Chairman of the National AIDS Coordinating Committee (NACC). Her most recent appointment, the sole private sector representative comprising civil society members from 16 countries to be part of The Multi-Stakeholders Task Force for the 2021 United Nations High- Level meeting on HIV.

 

Mr. Robert Tang Yuk is the Managing Director and majority shareholder of TYE Manufacturing Co. Ltd. He has held various positions with TYE since 1991. As a leading manufacturer of Quality Electrical Products,

TYE serves the entire Caribbean as well as Central America and Canada. TYE employs approximately 100 people and has been in operation since 1984.

Marli A. Creese – Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Creese has been an integral part of the NCB Financial Group since December 2016. With 14 years of distinguished experience in the financial services industry, Mr. Creese brings a wealth of knowledge and a diverse skill set encompassing corporate and investment banking, investment analysis, trading, and public finance.

Throughout his career, Mr. Creese has achieved remarkable milestones, including playing a pivotal role in raising and co-arranging capital across the length and depth of the capital markets, totaling TTD 23.7 billion (equivalent to USD 3.5 billion) for sovereign entities and corporate clients. These funds were acquired through various financial avenues, including capital markets, syndicated lending, and structured products. Her was also instrumental in the raising and issuance of a TTD 2.0 billion Triple Tranche Fixed Rate Bond in June 2023 for the Government of Trinidad and Tobago – one of the largest capital market transactions ever closed in the history of the company.

Having previously held pivotal roles at Citibank, the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago, and the Ministry of Finance in Trinidad and Tobago, he brings to the table invaluable insights that he continues to adeptly leverage in his current role at NCB Merchant Bank.  

He holds a Master of Science in Finance from the prestigious London Business School, a Bachelor of Arts in International Business from Ramapo College of New Jersey and is a licensed stockbroker with the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange, uniquely positioning him to lead NCBMBTT to new horizons.

Arlene Joyeau-Flores – Chief Operating Officer

ARLENE JOYEAU-FLORES – Chief Operating OfficerAs Chief Operating Officer at NCB Merchant Bank (Trinidad and Tobago) Limited (NCBMBTT) , Arlene Joyeau-Flores is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company and brings more than 30 years of banking experience to NCBMBTT. Her experience and leadership have been focused on developing and delivering business services and solutions, providing outstanding client experience and driving profitable revenue growth.

Prior to joining NCBMBTT in 2015, Arlene worked at RBC Royal Bank Limited for over 30 years. From 1997 she held several leadership positions and developed expertise in operations, strategic planning, audit, business process improvement, change management, GL reconciliation and human resource management. Her roles included Manager Operations, Branch Manager, Change Management Lead- Integration and Team Lead- Reconciliation. Her managerial assignments has been noteworthy as they resulted in significant improvements in the development of staff, client experience and operational efficiency. Responsible for reconciliation of GL accounts post–migration to a new operating system , she successfully led RBC’s transition to more effective and efficient processes in operational procedures across several jurisdictions.

She holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of the West Indies and her work experience includes Trinidad and Tobago, Aruba, Curacao, and St. Maarten.

Ancil Ramcharan – Finance Manager

ANCIL RAMCHARAN – Finance ManagerAncil Ramcharan is a qualified accountant and member of the ACCA since 2004. He is currently CFO with NCB Merchant Bank (Trinidad and Tobago) Limited (formerly NCB Global Finance Limited), having assumed the position in 2011. In this capacity, Mr. Ramcharan oversees the finance department and deals with financial reporting and analysis, and planning and budgeting. Prior to becoming CFO, Ancil worked as Assistant Accountant from 2006 to 2010 and in financial reporting analysis from 2010 to 2011. Previously, Mr. Ramcharan worked with First Citizens Bank for 10 years in the mortgage department. Ancil Ramcharan has an MSc in International Finance.

Jonathan Chan – Head, Treasury & Forex

JONATHAN CHAN – Head, Treasury & ForexMr. Chan is a veteran banker with 24 years experience. He has had 14 years progressive responsibility in treasury management, bond trading, repurchase agreements and foreign exchange management.

Jonathan has been with NCB Merchant Bank (Trinidad and Tobago) Limited (formerly NCB Global Finance Limited) since 2004 where he has served as Senior Treasury Manager between 2004 and 2007 and as Group Treasurer since 2007. Previous to joining NCB Global Finance, Mr. Chan worked with RBTT Bank Limited where from 1999 to 2004 he was Manager for Foreign Exchange Trading and from 1990 to 1999 he worked in retail banking in various positions.
